“Installing the product has been amazing and we’ve really enjoyed it. It was easy to install on site and compared to timber, there’s no difference,” said Daniel Hughes, Owner of Elsea Design and Construction, who was commissioned with his team to install recycled plastic Kookaburra Settings and Lyrebird Benches from Replas at Wheelers Hill Primary School in Victoria. Wheelers Hill PS wanted to make sure their new furniture was durable, low maintenance and there to stay, “this surface in particular has a concrete base, really easy dynabolt and screw it down, it won’t go anywhere,” said Daniel. Kookaburra Settings are ideally suited to areas where maximum seating is required, perfect for school grounds. The use of a galvanised steel frame means that only a single post is required for supporting the table. Lyrebird Benches are extremely sturdy and offer a more traditional look. Like all recycled plastic products from Replas, these furniture pieces will not rot, split, crack or ever need painting. The low maintenance aspect also allows the grounds keepers for Wheelers Hill extra time and to use their resources on other areas of the school. “A lot of the boys liked working with recycled material and structurally compares pretty well, we will absolutely recommend this material down the track,” said Daniel.
