Brolga Bollards Included on ‘The Banks’ of Lake Wivenhoe at Billies Bay Recreational Area in SEQ

When South East Queensland Water reopened their Billies Bay Recreational Area in 2017, they included recycled plastic Brolga Bollards on the banks of Lake Wivenhoe. The upgrades included several hundred Brolga Bollards from Replas that will withstand the harsh Queensland environment and termites. Named after the official bird emblem of Queensland, the Brolga Bollard is tall and slender with an elegant profile, equally at home in coastal or wetland areas. The unique double wall construction offers more rigidity which adds to the strength of the installation. While a hollow centre means although the bollards are strong they are extremely lightweight, making them cheaper to transport and easier to install. As is the case with all recycled-plastic products, these posts are virtually maintenance free. They will not split, rot, crack, or ever need painting.
